If passion had a taste, Chocolate Country would find a way to perfect it. With more than 46 different flavour combinations in their chocolate truffles alone, the team based in Montville on the Sunshine Coast are committed to crafting the highest quality chocolate creations. This commitment began when owners Julie and Paul Walters moved here from Scotland eight years ago, in search of adventure and a new challenge.
Familiar hands at business, the couple’s interest was piqued when a little chocolate shop in the hinterland came on the market, and they soon found themselves diving into the world of chocolate. They worked closely with a Swiss Chocolatier to learn the art of melting, tempering, moulding, and everything in between. Through this process they have been inspired by chocolate producers across the globe, often travelling to discover new and exciting ways to work with chocolate. Their ingredients include the finest quality coverture chocolate direct from Belgium, combined with local cream, nuts and fruits that are among some of the finest in the region. The entire Easter range is something to be marvelled, with their Large Luxury Eggs the stunning centrepiece.
These eggs are more a piece of art than an edible treat, with inspiration coming from the great French impressionist, Monet. Chocolate Country’s half-egg truffles boast punchy flavour combinations as well as family favourites, available in packs that will suit everyone’s palate. You cannot miss their ‘pièce de résistance’ – the Hot Cross Bun Truffle, for a true surprise for the senses, this little truffle will have you feeling like you’re eating the real thing.
